Hello John,
It's fairly easy to participate to JOTI. All you need is one or more computers, a modem and a phone line. As software you will need at least a irc program like mirc the most used irc program into scoutlink. Self i used Icechat. a lot of information you can find on www.joti.org.
Also you can used the link scoutlink chat on this page.
Enter a nickname like for example johnp-can and choose a channel
when you wil register your nick on scoutlink you can do that at www.jotajoti.org
For more programma's what i used you can look forward at www.oldscout-nl.spaces.live.com
